We are the University of Alabama campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity International, a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 U.S. states and in approximately 70 countries. Our mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
We are a student-run service organization and we partner with the local Tuscaloosa chapter of Habitat for Humanity to fulfill four functions: direct service, fundraising, advocating, and educating. During weekly build days, we help professional builders construct homes for those in need. Additionally, we advocate for the local community and educate people on the importance of affordable housing.
Since the founding of Habitat for Humanity at UA in 2013, more than 10,000 volunteers have contributed their time and effort to this cause.
